Test Your Home for Air Toxins
Do tests for: carbon monoxide, mold, mildew, radon, allergens, carcinogens, VOCs, and other harmful particulates. Here are a few signs that your home's air quality might contain some toxins:
- Someone in your home has health issues while at home, but finds relief after staying somewhere else for awhile.
- When you first enter your home after being gone for a day or more... do you smell an odd odor?
- Was the home built before the safety codes and laws restricted some old-time construction products?
- Do your walls feel wet and your windows have some condensation build up?
- Do you have alot of cardboard boxes in your home that release toxic formaldehyde into the home.
- Do you keep all of your vacuum cleaners clean, and use the proper filters for them.
There are various monitors, detectors, tests, and ways to make sure your home's air quality is healthy. You can clean suspect areas with disinfectant solutions to get rid of toxic bacteria and germs. Borax, white vinegar, and bleach are a few products that can also eliminate mold and mildew. Be sure to read the directions on how to use each product, and what not to mix it with... as mixing some products together can cause deadly fumes.
